An Appery.io team (Francisco
Kattan, Max Katz, and
Oleksander Piskun) headed
out to New York for the
TechCrunch Disrupt NY
Hackathon that ran the
weekend of April 27-28. Our
team was there to help
developers using Appery.io
and to award prizes in our
own contest. Check out this
collection
of social media buzz and
other web clippings
that captures some of the
flavor of the event.
30 teams used Appery.io to
develop their hacks at the
event. Yes, 30 teams! That's
a record for TechCrunch (the
next closest sponsor was a
distant second at 15 teams).
The three winners for our own
contest were Bar
Power, CareerHound,
and WaterLog.Congratulation
again! Appery.io figured in
many other contest
victories, too — for
instance, the winners of the
Visa and AT&T contests
built their projects with
Appery.io. Congratulation to
all the winners!
One thing that appealed to
developers at the hackathon
is the large collection of
plug-ins
Appery.io features in its
catalog. These plug-ins
allow you to add ready-made
connections to popular APIs
(like Salesforce.com,
Twilio, Aetna CarePass, and
BestBuy, to name a few)
right into your app. If you
haven't checked out the
plug-in collection recently,
take a look.
(And, because the catalog is
built by the community, you
can have your own plug-ins
published through the
catalog.)
